Enshrouded Quest Order and Progression Roadmap

Follow a practical Enshrouded quest order through Survivors, regions, Flame levels, crafting stations, bosses, Hollow Halls, and co-op progression.

Last updated: 2026-08-21

Enshrouded does not require one rigid quest order, but progression is easier when Survivor rescues, Flame upgrades, crafting stations, regions, and bosses move forward together. This roadmap provides a practical route without turning the game into a step-by-step spoiler list.

StageMain regionRecommended focus
1SpringlandsFirst base, Blacksmith, core tools, first Well and Root
2SpringlandsAlchemist, Hunter, Farmer, Carpenter, Flame levels 2–3
3RevelwoodSpire, advanced Survivor quests, Fell Wispwyvern, Flame 4
4Nomad HighlandsProduction upgrades, Fell Monstrosity, Flame 5
5KindlewastesIron-tier crafting, Fell Sicklescythe, Flame 6
6Albaneve SummitsFrost preparation, Fell Cyclops and Dragon, Flames 7–8
7Veilwater BasinFisher progression, Hydrak'Dal, Flame 9, current endgame

Use this as a dependency map. Side quests, building projects, resource trips, and Hollow Halls can be inserted whenever the group is prepared.

Stage 1: establish the Springlands base

  1. Leave the Cinder Vault and place the first Flame Altar above the Shroud.
  2. Build shelter, a Workbench, storage, and the first Rested room.
  3. Rescue the Blacksmith.
  4. Craft the Grappling Hook, Glider, and a reliable weapon set.
  5. Activate the Springlands Ancient Spire.
  6. Clear the first Elixir Well and at least one world Shroud Root.
  7. Strengthen the Flame to level 2 when the materials are ready.

The objective is a stable expedition loop, not a finished castle. The Getting Started guide covers this opening in more detail.

Stage 2: rescue the core craftspeople

Continue the Springlands quest chains that lead to:

  • Alchemist for potions, powders, and mage progression.
  • Hunter for ranged gear, leather, and textiles.
  • Farmer for food and crops.
  • Carpenter for advanced construction and furniture.

Complete their early station quests as they appear. Survivor progression unlocks the crafting systems needed for later regional materials, so ignoring every base quest can leave the character under-equipped despite reaching a high-level area.

Prepare the Scavenger Matron requirement and strengthen the Flame to level 3 before committing to Revelwood progression.

Stage 3: Revelwood and the capital

  1. Activate the Revelwood Ancient Spire.
  2. Establish a travel or resource outpost only if it fills a real route gap.
  3. Continue Survivor station chains using Revelwood materials.
  4. Explore Pikemead's Reach and complete the capital progression.
  5. Defeat the Fell Wispwyvern at The Pike.
  6. Use its head and the required regional materials for Flame level 4.

This is a good point to attempt the Springlands and Revelwood Hollow Halls if the group wants their rewards. Hollow Halls are optional difficulty spikes rather than mandatory gates to every main-region objective.

Stage 4: Nomad Highlands production

Nomad Highlands shifts the focus toward stronger production chains and a new resource tier.

Recommended order:

  1. Activate the Ancient Spire and scout safe travel routes.
  2. Upgrade armor and weapons using current-region materials.
  3. Complete the Alchemist's Black Cauldron progression.
  4. Defeat the Fell Monstrosity at the Cradle of Dusk.
  5. Finish relevant station quests before stockpiling materials blindly.
  6. Strengthen the Flame to level 5.

Use the Crafting Progression guide when a recipe appears to be missing; the blocker is often a Survivor quest or workstation rather than character level.

Stage 5: Kindlewastes and iron tier

  1. Activate the Kindlewastes Ancient Spire.
  2. Establish iron production and upgrade the main loadout.
  3. Complete the Haunted Sun Temple route in Brittlebush.
  4. Defeat the Fell Sicklescythe.
  5. Gather the remaining Kindlewastes Flame materials.
  6. Strengthen the Flame to level 6.

Do not enter every high-level fight with an old Legendary just because of its color. A current-tier Rare weapon or armor piece can be the stronger foundation.

Stage 6: Albaneve Summits

Frost and hypothermia make preparation part of progression. Bring the correct consumables and equipment before treating the mountains like an ordinary biome.

Recommended order:

  1. Activate the Albaneve Summits Ancient Spire.
  2. Establish frost protection and a safe return route.
  3. Complete the Coldest Elixir Well quest and defeat the Fell Cyclops.
  4. Strengthen the Flame to level 7.
  5. Progress to Howling Peak and defeat the Fell Dragon Youngling.
  6. Strengthen the Flame to level 8 after collecting the remaining materials.

See Frost and Hypothermia and the boss guide before the major encounters.

Stage 7: Veilwater Basin

Veilwater is the current endgame region and introduces water-focused exploration plus the Drak progression.

  1. Activate the Veilwater Basin travel network.
  2. Rescue and advance the Fisher's quest chain.
  3. Upgrade into Veilwater-tier armor and weapons.
  4. Complete the Drak objectives leading through Drak'Dal Temple.
  5. Obtain the Hydrak'Dal Head.
  6. Gather the remaining regional materials for Flame level 9.
  7. Finish unresolved Survivor, Hollow Halls, building, and collection goals.

Track the required items with the Flame Upgrade Planner.

When to do Hollow Halls

Hollow Halls are optional dungeon challenges with valuable class-oriented rewards. Attempt each region's Hall after the party can handle that region's ordinary combat comfortably, not immediately after crossing the border.

Bring healing, food, ammunition or charges, repair readiness, and inventory space. Their length makes preparation more important than a short surface encounter.

Required versus optional priorities

Usually progression-criticalUsually optional or flexible
Flame strengtheningCosmetic collections
Core craftsperson rescuesComplete town restoration
Station quests that unlock recipesFarming every Legendary in an old region
Boss items required by the FlameClearing every Hollow Hall immediately
Regional materials for equipment and accessFinishing every side quest before moving on

Optional does not mean unimportant. It means the activity can be scheduled around the group's interests without blocking the main route.

Co-op quest synchronization

Co-op groups should establish a simple routine:

  1. Choose one shared world as the progression world.
  2. Wait for the regular group before turning in major Survivor, boss, or regional quests.
  3. Compare Journal objectives before and after a session.
  4. Let every player interact with required objects and dialogue when prompted.
  5. Record the next shared objective in the server description or group chat.
  6. Back up the world before major updates or migration.

Character-based rewards such as skill points from Elixir Wells and Shroud Roots are earned once per character. A respawned world object does not necessarily grant the reward again.
