Enshrouded Max Level and Maximum Skill Points

The current Enshrouded max level is 45. See how to reach all 184 skill points from levels, Shroud Roots, and Elixir Wells, plus what resets do.

The current Enshrouded maximum character level is 45, and a character can earn up to 184 skill points in v0.9.1.2. Character level and skill-point completion are separate: reaching level 45 supplies only part of the full point total.

What happens after level 45?

Experience no longer produces additional character levels in the current build. You can still improve the character by:

Clearing missed Shroud Roots and Elixir Wells.
Finding higher-region equipment and better rarity rolls.
Unlocking equipment perks with Runes.
Improving food, Comfort, and consumable preparation.
Reallocating existing skill points into a more focused build.

The level cap does not turn every skill on automatically. Even at 184 points, the skill tree still requires choices between damage types, weapon specializations, survival nodes, movement, and co-op support.

Do Roots and Wells grant points again?

No. World objects and enemies can reappear after a reset or server restart, but each character receives the skill-point reward from a particular Root or Well only once. In multiplayer, stay online and close enough when the objective completes so the intended character receives the reward.

How respeccing works

Reset the skill tree at a Flame Altar. The current cost is 1 Rune per spent skill point, so a full endgame reset can consume a meaningful Rune reserve. A respec returns points for redistribution; it does not lower the character's level or make completed world objectives available again.

Before resetting:

Save or screenshot the current build.
Confirm the main weapon and primary attribute for the replacement build.
Keep enough Runes after the reset to upgrade retained equipment.
Use the Build Planner and Rune farming guide to prepare the change.

Will Enshrouded 1.0 raise the level cap?

Keen Games has not yet published a final written 1.0 level-cap or skill-point total. Treat claims about a higher launch cap as unconfirmed until the launch changelog documents it. This page will be recalculated when 1.0 releases on October 15, 2026.
