Will Enshrouded have crossplay?
Keen Games confirms there is no cross-platform play at launch. Crossplay is being worked on, but there is no delivery estimate. Cross-save is a separate feature and is not confirmed by this announcement.
This distinction matters when choosing where a group will play. Enshrouded supports online co-op for up to 16 players on PC, but that does not automatically make the PS5 version compatible with PC servers. Do not rent a PC server expecting PS5 friends to join at launch.
What console players can expect
The PC game supports solo/offline play, player-hosted co-op, and persistent dedicated servers. Keen's official FAQ describes Enshrouded as a cooperative game rather than a PvP-focused one and confirms the 16-player maximum on PC.
Console details still needing confirmation include:
- whether dedicated servers will appear in the console server browser;
- console voice chat and account requirements;
- cross-save or character transfer between platforms;
- console performance modes and split-screen support.
Should you start on PC or wait for console?
Choose PC or PS5 together with your group: both are available, but crossplay is unavailable and cross-save remains unconfirmed. A shared world can represent hundreds of building hours, so choosing one confirmed common platform is safer than assuming it can be moved later.
