Confirmed in the release announcement
Keen Games' written June announcement confirms the October 15 date and says more information will arrive about:
- Improvements and optimization.
- Quality-of-life changes.
- New 1.0 content.
The announcement does not provide a complete feature list, save-compatibility policy, or final server requirements. Those remain open until Keen Games publishes a written launch changelog or support article.
August development and performance update
Keen Games' August preview material demonstrates or discusses work on several frequently requested areas:
- A revised Fell Dragon Youngling encounter intended to work better across combat styles.
- Character-proportion options while retaining the existing appearance as a choice.
- Additional convenience settings, including an auto-collect option for scattered loot.
- Continued NPC, pet, and pathfinding improvements.
- Performance work aimed especially at lower- and mid-range systems.
These are previewed changes, not a substitute for final patch notes. Exact values, settings, platform differences, and whether every demonstrated detail ships unchanged must be checked against the release build.
The August 27 official update says the shown improvements are only part of a longer October changelog. It also confirms that Keen was demonstrating the PS5 version to press at Gamescom. That is evidence of active console development, but it is not confirmation of crossplay or a separate PlayStation Store release time.
September price change
The Steam price is scheduled to rise by €10 to €39.99, or the regional equivalent, on September 8, 2026. Keen says existing owners do not need to purchase the game again when it leaves Early Access. Regional pricing, discounts, and console pricing can differ, so verify the live store price before buying.
See the Enshrouded price increase guide for the dated details.
What is still unknown
As of September 5, the available official announcements do not fully answer:
- Whether existing worlds and characters require migration or conversion.
- Whether the level cap, skill-point maximum, or Flame requirements change.
- Which new region, quests, enemies, armor, weapons, and recipes ship at launch.
- Which dedicated-server properties are added, renamed, or removed.
- Whether current calculators remain numerically accurate.
- The complete performance targets and revised system requirements.
- The precise post-launch Xbox schedule.
Treat exact feature lists copied from trailer frames or community comments as provisional until Keen Games documents them.
Should you start now or wait for 1.0?
Start now if you want to learn building, exploration, crafting, and the current combat system without waiting. The current game already contains six major regions and a long progression path.
Wait for 1.0 if avoiding possible balance changes, quest revisions, or save migration matters more than playing immediately. Waiting also lets you begin with the final launch onboarding and performance changes.
If you start now, keep a manual backup before October 15. Dedicated-server owners should review the backup and migration guide and avoid overwriting the last pre-1.0 archive.
Returning-player preparation checklist
Before launch:
- Back up the world and character files outside the live save directory.
- Record the current server configuration and installed version.
- Finish or note active quests so progression differences are easier to diagnose.
- Avoid spending every Rune immediately before a potential equipment rebalance.
- Record important tool totals such as skill points and Flame level.
- Check the official support page for a migration notice during launch week.
After launch:
- Read the complete patch notes before opening an irreplaceable world.
- Update clients and dedicated servers to matching versions.
- Verify the skill tree, equipment upgrades, recipes, and Flame requirements.
- Test a copied world before changing a long-running production server.
- Recheck any guide that still displays a v0.9.1.2 version note.
Companion guide and tool status
The current guides and calculators target v0.9.1.2 unless a page states otherwise. The highest-risk launch areas are:
| Area | Verification required at launch |
|---|---|
| Builds and skills | Tree layout, node values, point maximum, equipment interactions |
| Damage Calculator | Attribute scaling, heavy attacks, critical rules, defense behavior |
| Flame Planner | Materials, boss trophies, benefits, Altar limits |
| Resources and crafting | Locations, recipes, stations, Survivor unlocks |
| Boss guides | Balance, resistances, encounter mechanics, rewards |
| Dedicated servers | Version, configuration schema, ports, migration behavior |
A page will only be marked 1.0-ready after its facts have been checked against the release build or final official documentation.
