Enshrouded Glider and Grappling Hook Progression Guide

Unlock every Enshrouded Glider from the starting Glider to Ghost Glider, craft Grappling Hook upgrades, and compare speed, range, stamina, and materials.

Enshrouded traversal progression combines four Gliders with Grappling Hook upgrades. Upgrade them as soon as the required Survivor and regional materials are available: better traversal reduces travel time, makes Ancient Spires more valuable, and opens safer approaches to difficult objectives.

Starting Glider

Craft at a Workbench with:

  • 8 Shroud Wood.
  • 2 Animal Fur.
  • 2 String.
  • 2 Shroud Spores.

This is enough to begin using Ancient Spires as launch points, but it should not remain the permanent choice once Carpenter progression opens.

Advanced Glider

Craft through the Carpenter with:

  • 6 Shroud Wood.
  • 4 Linen.
  • 4 String.
  • 8 Shroud Sacks.

It improves range by 50% and raises speed without increasing the four-stamina-per-second drain. For most characters, this is the highest-value early traversal upgrade.

Extraordinary Glider

Craft through the Carpenter with:

  • 4 Shroud Wood.
  • 2 Leather.
  • 2 Linen.
  • 25 Shroud Adhesive.

It doubles the starting Glider's range and speed rating, but consumes five stamina per second. Improve Endurance, food, Rested, or gliding support so the faster equipment does not end flights early.

Ghost Glider location and recipe

The Ghost Glider is found in a Gold Chest at the top of the South-east Sun Temple in the Kindlewastes during the Alchemist's Among the Bluejays quest. Looting it unlocks Carpenter crafting for additional copies.

Crafting materials:

  • 3 Shroud Wood.
  • 2 Fabric.
  • 4 Enshrouded Oil.
  • 1 Sulfur.
  • 1 String.

It provides 250% range and the highest current speed rating. The Ghost Glider is also part of the route into later northern progression.

Starting Grappling Hook

Craft with 4 Metal Scraps, 7 String, and 10 Shroud Spores. The Blacksmith quest points toward it after the opening Elixir Well, and it is required for the first Ancient Spire route.

Improved Grappling Hook

Craft with the original Grappling Hook, 1 Shroud Core, 2 Shroud Liquid, and 3 Shroud Spores. It increases activation range and reduces stamina cost from 40 to 30.

Underwater Grappling Hook

The Veilwater upgrade retains the 30-stamina cost and enables underwater grapple routes. It requires the Improved Grappling Hook plus Shroud Radiance, Pink Mushroom Meat, Shroud Relics, and Gold Dust through the Carpenter.

Best traversal upgrade order

  1. Starting Grappling Hook.
  2. Starting Glider.
  3. Improved Grappling Hook when Alchemist and Carpenter progression allows it.
  4. Advanced Glider.
  5. Extraordinary Glider.
  6. Ghost Glider.
  7. Underwater Grappling Hook before completing Veilwater routes.

Add Double Jump and appropriate gliding skills after establishing the primary combat route. Updraft now charges during early flight after Forging the Path, so wait for its indicator when maximum lift matters.
