Best Enshrouded Weapons and Legendary Farming Guide
Choose the best Enshrouded melee weapon, bow, dagger, wand, or staff for your build and learn how region loot, rarity, perks, and upgrades work.
Last updated: 2026-08-21
The best weapon in Enshrouded is usually a high-rarity weapon from your current region with perks that match your build, not a universally fixed item at one permanent coordinate. Most weapons belong to regional loot pools, and their level, rarity, and unlocked perks can change the comparison.
Use this guide to choose the correct weapon family, recognize a strong drop, and farm efficiently without relying on outdated “one guaranteed Legendary” claims.
Best weapons at a glance
| Playstyle | Best general choice | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Shielded melee | One-handed sword or axe | Reliable attacks, blocking, and cramped-area control |
| Heavy melee | Greatsword or preferred two-handed family | Heavy attacks and Focus abilities reward safe openings |
| Bow ranger | Fast bow for general play; high-impact bow for opening shots | Draw time changes practical DPS |
| Dagger ranger | Current-region daggers with dagger, critical, or sneak support | Mobility and close-range burst |
| Mobile mage | Wand with matching elemental and magic perks | No spell-charge consumption and flexible movement |
| Burst mage | Staff with sustainable spell charges | Strong planned casts and area effects |
There is no single winner across all enemies. Damage type, attack speed, range, resource cost, and enemy resistance can matter more than displayed power.
How weapon loot works
Most weapons drop randomly from the region where they originate. Higher-tier chests improve the chance of valuable equipment, while certain unique or lore weapons have their own acquisition method.
Important rules:
- Region determines the underlying progression tier.
- Rarity determines how many perks can be unlocked through upgrades.
- A Legendary weapon is not automatically better than a later-region Rare weapon.
- Displayed damage does not include every practical factor, such as draw time, weak-point access, mana cost, or enemy resistance.
- Fell enemies are immune to Shroud damage, making damage-type matching important.
Best one-handed weapon
One-handed swords and axes are the safest all-purpose melee choices because they work with a shield and leave shorter recovery windows than heavy weapon families. Choose between candidates by comparing:
- Current-region base damage.
- Applicable cutting, blunt, piercing, elemental, or critical perks.
- Durability and unlocked upgrade tiers.
- How often the attack chain safely connects.
A one-handed build is ideal for first attempts against bosses and unfamiliar interiors. Use the Melee Tank build for the connected skill priorities.
Best two-handed weapon and greatsword
Greatswords, two-handed axes, hammers, and clubs trade defensive flexibility for heavier attacks and wider pressure. Forging the Path gave melee weapons heavy attacks that deal double health and stun damage before defenses, while specializations unlock Focus abilities.
Choose the family whose animation and damage type match the encounter. A theoretical damage advantage disappears if the recovery repeatedly leaves the character exposed. Greatswords offer a distinct attack chain; hammers emphasize blunt damage; axes and clubs bring their own perk pools and rhythm.
Best bow
Bow comparisons must include draw time. A lower-damage bow that fires more frequently may win sustained DPS, while a slower bow can be better for opening weak-point shots where only one attack fits the window.
Prioritize:
- Current-region displayed damage.
- Draw or loading time.
- Ranged critical chance and damage.
- Weak-point and applicable damage perks.
- The ammunition the build can afford to use consistently.
Enter both bows in the Damage Calculator, use the real seconds per shot, and keep every other assumption equal.
Best daggers
Daggers belong to the Dexterity side of character scaling but play at melee range. Look for dagger, critical, sneak, and backstab support, then preserve enough stamina for positioning and escape.
Daggers are strongest when the encounter permits flanking or control. Carry a bow for targets that cannot be approached safely.
Best wand
Wands are the practical sustained-damage choice for a mage. They allow movement while attacking and do not require crafted staff charges, but their shorter range makes positioning important.
Match the wand's damage types and perks to the target. Avoid relying on Shroud damage against Fell enemies. Intelligence, applicable elemental bonuses, critical effects, and wand-specific skills all influence the result.
Best staff
Staffs provide planned burst, area damage, healing, and elemental flexibility through spell charges. The best staff is the one that supports the spells available for the intended expedition.
Compare:
- Charge time and safe casting windows.
- Mana consumption and regeneration.
- Spell-charge crafting cost.
- Elemental effectiveness against the target.
- Whether a wand would provide better sustained pressure between casts.
The Wizard Healer build covers the complete staff-and-wand loadout.
How to farm Legendary weapons efficiently
- Farm the correct region. A later-region base item is usually more valuable than repeatedly farming an obsolete pool.
- Target high-tier chests. Gold and other high-quality chests provide better chances than routine containers.
- Use Hollow Halls rewards. End rooms contain class-oriented weapon and armor chests that can be opened when you bring the required Ectoplasm resources.
- Build a repeatable route. Use an Ancient Spire or safe Flame Altar, then visit several worthwhile chests per reset rather than one isolated container.
- Inspect perks before recycling. Upgrade potential matters; two weapons with the same name can become different build choices.
- Stop when the gain is marginal. Progressing to the next region often improves the loot pool more than hours spent perfecting the previous tier.
Chest contents and respawn behavior can vary with chest type, world state, and updates. Do not build a guide around an exploit or assume a story chest can be farmed forever.
Recognizing a good weapon drop
A strong weapon answers “yes” to most of these questions:
- Is it from the current progression region?
- Does its damage scale with the build's main attribute?
- Do its damage types work against the intended enemies?
- Are most unlocked perks relevant to the weapon and rotation?
- Is its rarity high enough to expose meaningful upgrades?
- Can the character sustain its ammunition, mana, or spell-charge cost?
- Does its attack speed produce better real DPS than the alternative?
Weapon comparison workflow
Use the Damage Calculator for pre-defense comparison:
- Enter the upgraded displayed damage.
- Select melee, ranged, or magic scaling.
- Add only bonuses that apply to that weapon and attack.
- Use measured seconds per repeatable attack.
- Apply the same weak-point and target assumptions to both weapons.
- Treat relative results as more reliable than exact post-armor damage.
Enemy armor and resistance multipliers are not fully exposed, so an in-game test against the intended enemy remains the final check.
