Does Enshrouded 1.0 Reset Your Character? Skill Tree Reset Explained

What the confirmed 1.0 skill reset means, what remains unknown about worlds and characters, and how to prepare for your first login.

Last updated: 2026-10-01

What is confirmed

Confirmed (official): every character's skill tree resets at 1.0 on October 15 because skills were added and moved. Reassign your points before leaving your base. The announced player cap is 50 and the equipment cap is 55.

The confirmed change concerns allocated skills. It does not establish that the rest of the character is erased.

What has not been announced

Not yet confirmed: resets of levels, gear or inventory; a world wipe; whether old worlds receive the new biome; and the complete save/server migration procedure. The exact skill-point total at level 50 is not yet published.

Keep these separate when planning with friends: a confirmed skill-tree reset is not evidence of a mandatory fresh world.

First login checklist

  1. Read the final official changelog and any save guidance.
  2. Preserve a pre-launch backup.
  3. Open the skill tree while still at your base.
  4. Reassign points, checking moved skills and the new descriptions before selecting your route.
  5. Check the resulting loadout before starting an expedition.

Use the 1.0 Preparation Tracker to remember your backups and login checks. Existing point-by-point guides remain v0.9.1.2 references.

Dedicated servers and shared worlds

The announced reset applies to each character's skill tree, not the server world. That distinction does not guarantee a particular migration outcome: world compatibility and server steps remain not yet confirmed. Ask every player to check their own skills and coordinate client/server updates with the administrator.

Should you restart?

A fresh world is a separate choice. Read Should You Start a New World for Enshrouded 1.0? before deleting progress. Keep the old world and character backups even if your group chooses a new adventure.
