How Enshrouded Companion researches, verifies, updates, and corrects guides, tools, hosting comparisons, and affiliate-supported content.

Last updated: 2026-07-27

Enshrouded Companion aims to publish practical information that a player can verify and use. Pages should distinguish confirmed facts, calculations, provider claims, observations, and unresolved questions.

Research order

When sources disagree, the preferred order is:

  1. Current in-game behavior and reproducible testing.
  2. Official Keen Games announcements and support documentation.
  3. The official Enshrouded Wiki.
  4. Clearly identified provider documentation for hosting specifications.
  5. Community reports used as leads rather than unquestioned facts.

See Data Sources for details.

Version and review labels

Mechanics, requirements, and tools should state the game version they target or the date they were last reviewed. A new patch does not automatically make older information false, but pages with affected values remain under review until checked.

Corrections

Confirmed errors should be corrected promptly. Material corrections update the page's review date. Uncertain reports are investigated before they replace a sourced value.

Correction reports are most useful when they include:

  • The exact page and statement.
  • Game and server version.
  • A screenshot, official source, or reproducible test.
  • World settings that could affect the result.

Use the contact page to submit a correction.

Affiliate content

Some hosting and product links can generate a commission at no additional cost to the reader. Affiliate relationships do not prove that a provider or product is better.

Hosting comparisons should identify:

  • Which destinations are affiliate links.
  • Whether statements come from provider-published specifications.
  • Pricing or feature review dates.
  • Important limitations such as renewal pricing, backups, regions, refunds, and world export.

The site will not claim hands-on testing unless that testing actually occurred.

Artificial intelligence and automation

Automation may assist research organization, consistency checks, or drafting, but published claims still require appropriate sources and editorial review. The site should not mass-produce pages simply to target search phrases.
